Ergomo: The Power Meter www.ergomo.net
1997: The enthusiastic cyclist, Siegfried Gerlitzki was quite busy as a graduate engineer, but wanted to continue to improve his cycling performance. He delves intensively into training planning, talks with sports physicians – and discovers that the most important measurement parameter is missing: the (pedaling) force of the cyclist, as measured in watts.
Starting with the knowledge that the shaft distorts slightly during pedaling (torsion effect), he constructs an ingenious optical-electric system that measures force and thus performance with great precision. ergomo® quickly advances to become the ‘secret weapon’ of ambitious cyclists.
In 2005, Matthias A. Gärtner, former managing director of FILA and AVIA, entrepeneur in the sporting good area for years and nowadays owner and CEO of ergomo, launched SG Sensortechnik GmbH & Co.KG. The entire system was completely revamped and its performance substantially improved.
2006 ergomo® was futher developed and optimized! Ergomo measures with a unique accurancy with only 0.5% deviation and is therefor the most accurate serial produced mobile power measurement system in the world.
ergomo® is now being sold worldwide in more than 30 countries and is well on its way to becoming the internationally best-selling training system.

Join Team Xtreme4 in our quest to Race Across America and raise awareness about alternative transportation options. By cycling continuously for about a week, we hope to inspire others to use carbon-neutral methods of transportation. We need your help to make this huge undertaking a roaring success. Your donation will both defray costs associated with the race and help us to offset our own carbon usage. We’ll keep you updated on our efforts to stay green and raise the money necessary to take a team from one side of the nation to the other.
